Castle of the City of San Marino (Republic of San Marino)
City of San Marino is a totally mountainous castle of 4.102 inhabitants, located at 675 meters above sea level, its territory extends over an area of 7,09 sq. km.
Its origins refer to the illustrious legend of the Saint Founder of the San Marino community and of the Republic, when Marino, in 301 AD, took refuge on the Monte Titano.
The small capital contains a historical, museum and architectural heritage of inestimable value.
An annual destination of millions of tourists, it is a continuous discovery: a rich assortment of crafts and souvenirs allow a varied and entertaining shopping.
